Editorial Delivery for Social & Digital
For the past two years, Duna has supported The New York Times Debate at Davos, delivering a high-profile global broadcast through our remote-first production model. Working in partnership with Kite Insights, we helped capture, edit and deliver the debate at pace while significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the production.
Rather than flying a UK crew to Switzerland, we collaborated with a Zurich-based camera team on the ground, directing the shoot remotely from the UK using live production technology. This approach allowed us to maintain full editorial and production control while working seamlessly with local specialists who know the terrain, venues and rhythms of Davos.
The full debate film was turned around within a week for launch across New York Times social channels and YouTube, followed by a highlights cut the week after to extend reach and engagement.

WHAT MADE THE PROJECT DIFFERENT
Remote production at scale
Live-directing a multi-camera debate with a local crew while managing editorial decisions remotely.
Fast turnaround
Full debate delivered within days of the event, with highlights following for extended promotion.
Lower-carbon production
A demonstrably reduced emissions footprint without compromising broadcast quality.
IMPACT: CARBON SAVINGS
By avoiding a three-person UK crew flying from London to Zurich (with checked camera, lighting and tripod kits), we significantly reduced emissions:
Estimated emissions for UK crew flying with equipment and airport transfers:
~1.2–1.5 tCO₂e
Local Zurich crew travelling to Davos by car:
~0.15 tCO₂e
Estimated saving:
~85–90% reduction in travel-related emissions for the production.
This project demonstrates how global media can be produced responsibly, combining speed, quality and sustainability without trade-offs.
