Big Tech's Little Victims ran an experiment to see what children are shown when they sign up for social media at age 13. Within minutes, fictional 13-year-old profiles were served harmful and dangerous content - material that no child or young teenager should see.
The campaign calls on the government to step up, protect young people, and raise the minimum age for social media access to 16.
We produced the film that launched the campaign, presented by Natalie Cassidy, featuring interviews with teachers and parents.
Content warning: This film contains brief clips of concerning content shown to the 13-year-old personas during the experiment. The clips have been carefully selected to protect viewers; the most extreme content has been omitted.
